Remember that hit show back in the 90’s – Married With Children? Kelly Bundy played by Christina Applegate was such an airhead. She once had this conversation with her brother Bud on the show:
Kelly: I’m trying to teach these kids how to read.
Bud: But, Kelly, you can’t read.
Kelly: Well you can’t score, but you still have a bed.
(Such 90’s humor…..WHAT A CHARACTER!)
Today, in the twenty first century, we have evolved incredibly. The comedy has become so sophisticated, that now, we watch our comedy on the NEWS. (That’s right. I said THE NEWS).
Today, our Bundy isn’t a Kelly though. Today’s Bundy is an intellectually sophisticated, highly observant and completely up-to-date, inclusive, generous, and articulate Cliven Bundy. Here’s something from Cliven’s schtick:
“They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton.
“And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom.”
LOL! He’s just TOO funny, isn’t he? Especially his grammar (ie. “didn’t get no more freedom”) HA! …and ALL black people are referred to as “THEY” in his world, and “THEY” are all “enslaved” because “THEY” didn’t learn to pick cotton according to him.
I’m SO glad he’s NOT a racist! (Can you JUST imagine IF he WAS?) YEEEEE HAAAAA!!!!!!! Makes me SO PROUD to be an American. God Bless It. And so it is. Amen.
